Workplace Strategy & Leadership Program Overview

The Workplace Strategy & Leadership  Program (WSL) is comprised of four (4) modules, each of which includes three (3) live lectures and one (1) virtual workshop. The accomplishment of all modules and a final workshop will lead to the WSL certificate. This is the first ‘certificate of completion’ program for workplace management in our industry!

STEP 1
Module 1 1-01 Introduction to Workplace Management

The new discipline of Workplace Management, what are we trying to achieve? Understand the shift from order-taker to strategic asset.

1-02 Strategic Management

Building a strategy that aligns total workplace experiences with strategic business drivers.

1-03 Client Relationship Management

Recognizing/building relationships with Business Leaders. Understanding workplace “clients” and “consumers” to drive business improvement.

 1-04 Workshop

Re-cap the three modules, dialogue the issues and share with others. Problem solving, design thinking applied to case studies

STEP 2
Module 2 2-01 The Art & Science of Change

ManagementDiscussions around the world ahead, drivers for change, challenges of change & definition of Change Management.

2-02 The Human & Change

Explore the human dimensions of change, how the brain respond to change and a model fro managing change.

2-03 Designing a Change Program

Designing a change program, getting people on board and how to manage change. Explore what it takes to be a great change leader.

2-04 Workshop

Re-cap the 3 modules, discuss issues and share with others. Work through examples of each in a case study exercise.

STEP 3
Module 3 3-01 Capacity Management

What is workplace capacity, what governs it constraints, measurements and opportunities

3-02 Project Management

Learning to connect to the business and understand their priorities as it relates to PM work. New thinking:  ”what does success look like?”

3-03 Risk Management

How to set up Risk Management processes and the development of business continuity plans in a workplace context

3-04 Workshop

Re-cap the three modules, dialogue the issues and share with others. Work through examples of each in a case study exercise

STEP 4
Module 4 4-01 Resource Management 

Use of systems that measure the actual use of assets and services with a view to optimizing space, energy, labor and effort. Creatively think where additional resources create value

4-02 Performance Management 

Creating a measurement framework and processes to continually measure the effectiveness of workplace experience and supporting infrastructure……..and take steps to enhance performance

4-03 Improvement Management

Using data from help desks and multiple other sources to continuously improve the workplace experience

4-04 Workshop

Re-cap the three modules, dialogue the issues and share with others. Work through examples of each in a case study exercise

STEP 5
Final Final Workplace Management Workshop (5 hours)

Upon completion of the  four modules, which includes twelve lectures and the four virtual workshops, the student is qualified to participate in the final workshop which brings all the learning together. Using a test evaluation by guest business managers (and following a morning of preparation) you will have a chance, as teams to present your new program and (in so doing) truly appreciate the different perspectives that exist in this discipline

Successful participants will receive formal recognition of their achievement and Certificate of Completion.
