We all know the pandemic has forever changed the ‘where’ of work, but the convergence with other trends are reshaping much more than that. This session is based on a presentation Kate was recently asked to deliver to NASA futurists. It will explore the data on how organizations are transforming their workplaces and work practices in a post-pandemic world and challenge viewers to think about how technological, social, economic, and other forces may impact the who, what, when, where, why, and how of work in the near and medium-term future.
Kate Lister is president of Global Workplace Analytics, a research-based consulting firm that has been helping organizations optimize flexible and distributed work for nearly two decades. She is a trusted source of insights about the future of work for news outlets including the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and dozens of others. As a recognized thought leader, Kate was one of only three witnesses invited to testify before a U.S. Senate committee regarding the potential for remote work in government once the pandemic ends.

During the mid-2000s, the army, alarmed by the high percentage of soldiers returning from war with post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD), launched research that led to training on Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG). PTG are life habits that allow people and groups to bounce back stronger from adversity.
As organizations encourage employees to head back to the office, it is critical to consider that the past two years have been traumatic, and we can’t just pretend everything and everyone is the same. Employees are maxed-out, over-stressed, and on edge. While he says there is no magic bullet, author Rex Miller will share the principles of post-traumatic growth and resiliency that will help organizations and leaders support their teams as they head back to the office, or not. This WE:binar will distill the habits of PTG into six practical disciplines that produce energy, a renewed zest for life, and a deeper purpose that helps employees deal with stressors at home and in the office, manage burnout and ultimately build a more resilient workforce.
What is Post-Traumatic Growth and its relationship with the COVID-19 Pandemic
6 Principals of PTG that produce energy, purpose, and a more productive perspective on life
How employees and organizations can use PTG to create resiliency in the workplace
