Coworking, at least in this sense, is really just a thin social layer on top of sitting at the same tables in the coffee shop, or — in a real city — gathering at somebody’s apartment and sitting on the sofa together to “Jelly” or whatever the verb is.”

Exactly! I never have undestood the idea of an office half-way house. But there are people who are passionate about it, so maybe it’s just me. Or not.
