Our behaviors, including our behaviors at work, are powerfully influenced by social norms, or what we’re calling unwritten rules.
To share the research on what these unwritten rules mean as well as their possible implications for the workplace, WE HUB SoCal is thrilled to host a global tour of engaging conversations—led by Jeff Leitner and Jan Johnson—aimed at helping organizations and their consultants to bring about real and lasting change.
VP of Design and Workplace Resources
Jan Johnson is vice president of design and workplace resources at Allsteel and a well-respected workplace strategist. She leads a key element of the company’s research: mining science for insights into the effectiveness of work environments and sharing them with the design and corporate real estate communities. She is shaping the emerging field of workplace strategy through important contributions to the field’s body of professional knowledge, such as The Six Factors of Knowledge Worker Productivity, and by shaping and teaching the field’s professional competencies. Jan is also incoming Chair of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) for 2019.
Jeff Leitner is a fellow at New America in Washington, D.C., and the author of See Think Solve: A Simple Way to Tackle Tough Problems. Former innovator in residence at the University of Southern California, founder of Insight Labs, and co-founder of the international design initiative, UX for Good, Jeff has helped create change for governments, like the U.S. Department of State and NASA; corporations, like Starbucks and Panera; institutions, like Harvard Medical School and TED; and NGOs, like Ashoka and the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education. He received the 2018 Luminary Award for Excellence for his presentation with Jan Johnson at the CoreNet North American Summit.
