Don’t miss this WE Hub, Chicago event – a private tour/presentation/networking event at the new McDonald’s Headquarters in the West Loop. Located on the former site of Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Studios, the new McD HQ is symbolic of the company’s journey to transform its culture and brand with a workplace that supports the ideas of innovation, growth and corporate rebirth. WE will explore the cultural and physical transformation of McDonalds through the perspectives of its leaders in RE, HR, IT and Design. This cross-functional panel will discuss the business drivers, desired outcomes, process used, measurements of success and how the workplace was leveraged to support this shift.
The 550,000 square foot building was developed by Sterling Bay; Gensler served as Architect of Record; interiors were designed by IA Interior Architects and Studio O+A; and the general contractors were McHugh and ECI Executive Construction Inc. This nine-story complex features a McDonald’s restaurant, office, work cafe, fitness center and several outdoor terrace spaces. The facility also hosts a 700-person ‘Hamburger University’ conference center equipped with the latest technology for this LEED Platinum certified building. Importantly, the new facility was designed to enable ‘better listening, learning and engagement’ with their customers while providing a modern, user friendly HQ that fosters collaboration and re-energizes employees.
